NYC Bridge Accidents Can Be Serious

A multi-vehicle crash left a driver in critical condition following an accident on Brooklyn Bridge. The accident happened at about 3 pm on April 2, 2022. The crash resulted in the closure of the eastbound lanes for several hours. Images from the aftermath showed three heavily damaged vehicles along the bridge’s Brooklyn-bound side. A black Kia car was on its side, while a black van had a crumpled-down roof and looked completely totaled.

The 30-year-old man in critical condition was violently ejected from the car and was rushed to the Bellevue Hospital for prompt treatment. Six other people sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment on the scene. People who witnessed the crash said that it felt surreal because one vehicle became airborne, and bodies were strewn across the street.

Traffic from Manhattan slowed down to a standstill for several hours due to the closure of multiple lanes as police officers investigated the accident scene. According to the NYPD, the critically injured driver had been driving his 2021 Jeep extremely fast. However, the cause of the crash is still unknown.
