Driver Who Caused Times Square Crash Pleads Not Guilty

The 26-year-old crazed driver who plowed into 21 people in Times Square earlier this year, pleaded not guilty to the killing of the one pedestrian he struck that day.

The driver pleaded not guilty on Thursday, July 14, 2017, to murdering an 18-year-old tourist and plowing into 20 other pedestrians. The driver had his arraignment on a grand jury’s indictment in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The 18-year-old girl died after the deranged driver steered his Honda Accord the wrong way on a sidewalk on Seventh Avenue. He admitted that he wanted to kill all the pedestrians in his path. He is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and assault. He is due back in court on October 24, 2017.

West New York Man Assaulted By Police After Accident

A 28-year-old West New York man was involved in a serious accident after a crash caused by another 48-year-old driver and left both cars engulfed in flames. The 48-year-old driver was being pursued by authorities after he fled from a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, video footage was released showing police kicking the 28-year-old driver involved in this accident. Police kicked him as he tried to crawl out of his car.

This incident is a strange one and currently the 48-year-old driver has been charged with eluding police and aggravated assault. At the same time, a search is on to identify the police officers in the video footage and terminate and arrest them for their assault on the 28-year-old driver who remains in hospital.

One Person Dead In Three-Vehicle Crash

In Varysburg New York, police are currently investigating a three-vehicle accident that left one person dead and four people hospitalized.

The accident happened on U.S. Route 20A in Varysburg on Sunday, July 9, 2017. According to police a car crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck two motorcycles. Both bikers had passengers with them.

All four people on the motorcycles were hospitalized and one person later died at the hospital. The driver of the car was also hospitalized.

83-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Pedestrian Accident

In Beekmantown, N.Y. an 83-year-old man has been hospitalized after he was hit by a car. According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place Friday, July 7, 2017, in the afternoon.

A 22-year-old struck the 83-year-old man as he entered the roadway from the western shoulder of the road. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for a head injury including fractures to both wrists and ankles. Currently, he is reported to be in critical condition.

An investigation is underway and no-one was charged.

Motorcycle Under Investigation By County Sheriffs

In St. Lawrence County, sheriff’s deputies are investigating a crash that happened on Friday, July 7, 2017. The motorcycle crash left a Depeyster woman airlifted to a Vermont hospital.

The accident took place at Route 812 and Backus Camp Road when a 63-year-old woman who was headed north on Route 812 failed to drive past a curve and ended up hitting the guard rails.

The 53-year-old woman was transported to the Ogdensburg International Airport and then airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT.

There is an ongoing investigation into this accident.
