Matthew J. Peluso

Dedicated New York Personal Injury Attorney

Matt joined Lipsig Freund & Wisell, PLLC in 2019 with over eight years of intensive litigation experience.  Matt previously worked for a highly respected defense firm representing insurance companies.  Shortly after admission to the New York State Bar, Matt immediately started trying cases and consistently obtained successful jury verdicts on behalf of his clients.  He has tried over 30cases to verdict in all five New York City boroughs, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.   After his great results as a defense attorney, Matt decided to pursue his true passion and help people who have been seriously and catastrophically injured - those who are truly in need of justice.  Matt prides himself on thoroughness and attention to detail and knows that success for his clients can only be achieved through tireless preparation.

After years of excellent verdicts and settlements for Lipsig clients, Matt was named partner in 2025.

Matt has always believed in helping others and serving the community.  While in college, Matt tutored and mentored inner-city kids after school to ensure that they were in a safe environment and were kept off the streets.  While in law school, Matt worked for the Westchester District Attorney’s office and was assigned to the Public Integrity Bureau in White Plains, and later the Mount Vernon City Court, where he worked closely with prosecutors and police officers to keep the community safe.  He also provided pro bono representation to students facing suspension in New York City Public Schools to make sure that they stayed in school and remained on the right path.  A former ocean lifeguard,  Matt knows the importance of safety protocols and procedures and also knows the potential dangers that exist when rules that are designed to protect the community are needlessly disregarded.

Matt handles all types of personal injury matters from inception through trial.  He specializes in representing injured construction workers against property owners, developers and contractors who violate the New York State Labor Law.  He also manages premises liability cases against large property owners who fail to follow the law and ensure that their properties are not a danger to the community.
