Matthew J. Peluso

Dedicated New York Personal Injury Attorney

Matt joined The Lipsig Law Firm in 2019, bringing with him over eight years of intensive litigation experience. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at a highly respected defense firm representing insurance companies. Shortly after his admission to the New York State Bar, Matt began trying cases and quickly built a reputation for securing successful jury verdicts. He has tried more than 20 cases to verdict across all five New York City boroughs, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley.

After achieving strong results as a defense attorney, Matt chose to follow his true passion: advocating for individuals who have been seriously and catastrophically injured—those most in need of justice. He is known for his meticulous preparation and unwavering attention to detail, believing that success is earned through tireless effort and strategic focus.

Matt’s commitment to service extends beyond the courtroom. In college, he tutored and mentored inner-city students, providing a safe and supportive environment after school. During law school, he worked with the Westchester District Attorney’s Office, serving in the Public Integrity Bureau in White Plains and later in Mount Vernon City Court, where he collaborated with prosecutors and law enforcement to promote community safety. He also provided pro bono representation to students facing suspension in New York City public schools, helping them stay in school and on track. As a former ocean lifeguard, Matt understands the importance of safety protocols and the risks posed when protective rules are ignored.

At Lipsig, Matt handles a wide range of personal injury cases from inception through trial. He specializes in representing injured construction workers in claims against property owners, developers, and contractors who violate New York State Labor Law. He also prosecutes premises liability cases against large property owners who fail to maintain safe conditions, holding them accountable for endangering the community.
