Construction Worker Hit In A Car Accident

On Saturday, July 22, 2017, a construction worker was caught in the cross fire of a car accident that took place on the Upper East Side.

The construction worker was struck after a taxi cab and a Toyota collided on Park Avenue and 85th street in the morning. The Toyota ended up on the sidewalk in this accident after the taxi cab attempted to make a U-turn in the intersection and got stuck.

The collision led to a construction worker being hit by the Toyota. He was transported to Cornell with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation into this accident is being carried out.

Construction Worker In Critical Condition After A High-Voltage Shock

A construction worker was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center in critical condition after he suffered a high-voltage electrical shock accident on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

The man was working on the rooftop of a Park Avenue skyscraper when the accident took place. It is so far unclear how the man was electrocuted with the high-voltage electricity and authorities are investigating the incident.

Sanitation Truck Injures A Manhattan Bicyclist

A garbage truck struck and killed a bicyclist on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in Brooklyn. Police received reports of an accident on Franklin and Noble Streets in Greenpoint.

According to police, a 27-year-old bicyclist was found unresponsive on the street with serious trauma all over. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The bicyclist lived in Manhattan.

The cyclist was riding on Franklin Street when he was hit by a green garbage truck that was headed south. The truck did not stop and left the scene of the accident by the time police arrived.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

Electrician Dies After He Got Stuck In An Elevator

An electrician died after he got trapped in a Hell’s Kitchen elevator. The man was trapped in the elevator after power was turned off in the new building. He died while trying to pry the door open with his hands and squeezing through the 1-foot opening.

According to police, the man was found hanging out of the 1-foot opening on Sunday, July 23, 2017. He died of asphyxiation as he was trying to get out of the elevator.

The 53-year-old man was working at the location when he got stranded in the lift after the power shut off. His death happened as he was trying to get to the fifth floor of the 52-story residential building. The city Department of Building issued a cease-use order on the elevator and an investigation is ongoing.

Charter Bus Strikes And Kills Pedestrian

A Manhattan pedestrian was struck and killed by a charter bus on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. According to officials, the 39-year-old pedestrian was crossing a Manhattan street when he was hit by the private charter bus.

Police stated that he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The bus driver remained on the scene of the accident and an investigation is being carried out.

Hit-And-Run Accident Leaves Skateboarder Dead

An 18-year-old skateboarder was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday, July 23, 2017. The crash took place in Brooklyn in the afternoon.

Surveillance footage shows the skateboarder crossing an intersection before he was hit and run over by a BMW SUV that was making a turn.

The driver did not stop, however, several motorists and pedestrians came to help the skateboarder. The teenager was taken to a hospital but, was unfortunately pronounced dead later on. No arrests have been made yet but police continue to look for the driver of the BMW SUV.
