Worker Injured at St. Charles Cemetery In Accident After Falling Into Grave During Annual Santa Ride
EAST FARMINGDALE, NEW YORK (December 31, 2017) – An East Farmingdale cemetery worker was injured after falling into a grave while preparing burial plot.
Authorities have still not been able to identify the worker that fell into the grave at St. Charles Cemetery on 2015 Wellwood Avenue.
The accident appears to have happened while workers were setting up the annual Santa Ride.
The 63-year-old worker appears to have fallen into the grave while preparing a burial plot. Firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident in order to treat the cemetery worker for a broken ankle and bruised ribs.
Officials at St. Charles Cemetery said that the Santa Ride would likely be delayed in order to investigate the incident.
An investigation into the accident at St. Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale remains ongoing.
