LIABILITY IN BIG RIG TRUCK ACCIDENTS AND DANGEROUS STRETCHES OF ROAD
Truck drivers have a responsibility to maintain a safe distance with other vehicles on the road in order to prevent accidents. Even if another vehicle brakes suddenly or stops in the middle of the road, there should be enough distance between the truck and the other vehicle in order to prevent an accident. If a truck driver rear ends a car and causes an accident during the scope of their employment, the company that they work for may be vicariously liable for damages. Furthermore, in addition to a drivers negligence, there may be design flaws on a road that contribute to accidents.
