School Bus Accident Leaves Vicki Lavine Injured After Bus Driver Made Unsafe Lane Change
ROME, NEW YORK (April 8, 2018) – A 43-year-old woman was injured in a car accident with a school bus after the school bus driver made a lane change on State Route 49.
Police in Rome have been able to identify the woman that was injured as Vicki Lavine. The bus was going eastbound on the 49 freeway and did not have any children on it at the time of the accident.
The driver of the bus made a sudden lane change and Vicki Lavine had to move over rapidly in order to avoid being hit by the bus. The victim ended up hitting a street sign and the center median and was injured. She was taken to the Rome Memorial Hospital in an ambulance.
The driver of the school bus was issued a traffic summons for making an unsafe lane change. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
