Bus drivers have a responsibility to drive in a reasonably safe manner and to keep a watchful eye out for pedestrians. Unfortunately this doesn’t always happen. Adverse weather conditions and driver fatigue often contribute to pedestrian accidents. In particular, any driver making a left turn must yield to other cars and pedestrians that are close enough to pose a hazard. Any driver making a left turn and is involved in an accident will typically be held liable unless they had a green arrow. When a bus driver is negligent and causes an accident wile working within the course and scope of their employment, the city or company that employs them may be vicariously liable.
