Man Sustains Serious Injuries On His Foot and Leg After Escalator Accident At AMC Loews Movie Theater In Manhattan
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK (January 24, 2018) – A man was seriously injured in an escalator accident on the Upper West Side of Manhattan at the AMC Loews Movie Theater on Wednesday night.
Authorities are saying that a man in his 70’s was going down the escalator when it malfunctioned and caused his leg to get stuck. Witnesses are saying that the escalator bounced in the accident and caught the man’s foot.
Firefighters rushed to the scene of the escalator accident in order to free the man. Workers were eventually able to dismantle the escalator and free the victim.
He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
