JAMESPORT, NEW YORK (January 28, 2018) – A beloved farmer and well known figure in the community has tragically died in a farm accident with a manure spreader at the Wells Homestead Acres Farm on Sound Avenue.
Jamesport police have been able to identify the man that died in the farm equipment accident as Lyle C Wells.
Police recieved a call that Lyle Wells became trapped in a manure spreader at the Wells Homestead Acres Farm.
By the time firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene, Lyle Wells was found dead. An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
News of the victim’s death sent the community into mourning. Friends and family expressed their deep sadness over the death of the beloved farmer. He was remembered as a leader in the community and well respected for his deep knowledge about agriculture.
