Generally speaking, bus drivers have a responsibility to drive in a reasonably safe manner and keep a watchful eye out for other drivers. When a bus driver fails to drive in a reasonably safe manner and causes an accident, the company that they work for may be vicariously liable. In addition to driver negligence, there may be negligence on the part of a car manufacturer if a fuel tank catches fire and causes injuries to passengers in a car. Car fires and fuel tank explosions should not occur. A fuel tank may be defective depending on where it is placed in a vehicle, if there are inadequate welds or if it’s otherwise poorly designed. Any victim of a car fire may be able to file a claim for damages including the cost of medical treatment and pain and suffering.
