LIABILITY IN TRUCK ACCIDENTS
Generally speaking, truck drivers have a responsibility to drive in a reasonably safe manner according to the prevailing conditions of the road. When the driver of a commercial vehicle is working within the scope of their employment and causes an accident, the company that they work for may be vicariously liable. In addition to driver negligence, there may also be municipal negligence if a dangerous condition on a public property contributes to a car accident. Any person that is injured or has lost someone in a truck accident may be able to file a claim for damages.
