BAITING HOLLOW: 40-Year-Old Worker Injured In Conveyor Belt Accident At BGLJ Servicing Corp Industrial Plant

Conveyor Belt Accident Critically Injures Worker At Baiting Hollow BGLJ Servicing Corp Industrial Plant

BAITING HOLLOW, NEW YORK (March 6, 2018) – A 40-year-old worker was critically injured after he became trapped in a conveyor belt at an industrial plant owned by BGLJ Servicing Corp.

A co-worker at the plant was able to free the worker that was injured. The victim of the conveyor belt accident lost consciousness and had to be transported to the Peconic Bay Medical Center.

OSHA is still investigating what may have caused the conveyor belt accident at BGLJ Servicing Corp Industrial Plant.

When a worker is injured in an industrial accident, they will typically be able to file a claim for worker’s compensation. In addition to worker’s compensation, an injured worker may be able to file a third party liability claim against any other entities that may have been responsible for the accident. For example, if a piece of machinery malfunctions and causes a worker to be injured, they may be able to file a products liability claim. In particular, the manufacturer of a conveyor belt may be held liable for a worker’s injuries if the belt was partially or completely unguarded. Improperly assembled conveyor belts may also place employees at undue risk and increase the likelihood of injury. Any person injured by a defective conveyor belt may be able to receive compensation for their medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost income.
