LIABILITY IN GRAVITY RELATED ACCIDENTS AT WORK SITES
Workers in New York are protected by New York’s Labor Law section 240(1) which places ultimate responsibility for gravity related accidents on contractors and business owners. Business owners have a responsibility to make sure that scaffolds are secure and that workers are not likely to be injured by falling objects. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. When a worker is injured by a falling object they may be able to file a claim for damages including pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages.
Our staff at Lipsig Lawyers were deeply concerned to learn about the workplace accident that injured a 27-year-old man at Gamma North. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the victim as he continues to recover.
